The Professor of Surgery returned from leave at the begin- ning of the year, and resumed the courses in Operative Surgery. Dr. J. Morrison conducted a course of systematic lectures in Opthalmology, in addition to the clinical classes.

Hospital. Five hundred and forty surgical operations under anæsthesia were performed.
The out-patient attendence in the surgical clinic (including Ear, Nose, Throat and Orthopedics) numbered 2,479. There were also 1,824 new patients who attended the ophthalmic out- patients.

STAFF CHANGES.
Dr. D. J. Valentine went on leave in May. During his absence, lectures on therapeutics were given by Dr. T. W. Ware, Dr. Ware also gave some very interesting demonstrations in practical therapeutics in the G. C. H. Dispensary.
